So you wanna know what Dr. Stein thinks about your characters, right? If you've threaded with him or even so much as looked at him and he acknowledged your presence, he's probably got an opinion about you! Hit me up here with those characters~
Oh, and feel free to ask about the other peoples I play, them being Azuma, Bunshichi, and Tarou.

Stein didn't get much of a look at Joker's soul or anything, but remembers that he was totally one of the people who actually loled at his fail on the rolly chair and is someone who is apparently either smarter than he looks or thinks outside the box a lot because bigger wheels is A++ idea.
... Stein might actually ask if there's any other way to pimp out his ride, someday.

It will be the most awesome rolly-chair ever!

As for Hakuren... they got along at first but then Hakuren got all mean and scary after the whole baby incident. Normally, Azuma wouldn't let that sort of thing bother him so much, but the way how Hakuren totally pulled a 180 was jarring and left a huge impression. So... Azuma's kind of nervous around Hakuren now. Is totally fine with Mikage since he still has trouble making the Mikage = baaaaaby dragon thing, but will definitely be all "... [iches away from Hakuren :<]" now.
Bunshichi is irked by Truth-san more often than not. Having been through a lot, Bunshichi knows that there are people who there who definitely now more than he does but it really bothers him whenever people act as though they know everything especially about himself. Even if... Truth-san doesn't quite act like that. But there are times when Bunshichi goes "... hey, we kinda think alike" which makes him kind of dot at himself and go :| at Truth-san. >.>
Stein ... thinks you totally don't understand anything, bishop-wannabe, and are just doing and saying things you've heard rather than doing and saying the things you really want to say and do. Not only that but big issue with Stein is that he's not the most orthodox person on the planet and thus doesn't usually mind when people comment on his fail at being normal or responsible--except when they pull what Hakuren does in a I-Am-Holier-Than-Thou manner. By which I mean know-it-all and stuck-up. Worst thing is that Stein KNOWS that Hakuren is totally working toward being this nice and caring person and wanting to help others but is... not going anywhere with that initial roadblock of PERSONALITY and ATTITUDE he's got going on there and thus... Stein kinda wants to break Hakuren out of those bad habits of his T:>

So Stein respects her for that kind of thing, and clues her in on what is really up with him... whether or not it puts her guard up more doesn't really matter because it's all for a good cause, really~

I can't claim coherency with this, wat.
Anyway... Stein, of course, likes Jack and finds him beyond fascinating because his soul shows the mad scientist such interesting things and everything, but not only that but Jack's reactions to everything Stein says or does is completely unlike other reactions Stein gets. So... there's the whole "wonder how he'll react" aspect of things. In a way, Jack's kind of like Stein's Pandora's box. Stein wants to know pretty much everything about Jack because he's like this bucketful of secrets just waiting to be found out.
For example, in our most recent thread in the whistle post, Jack admits to having dealt with insane people before which explains a lot to Stein. Not only that but the way how Jack keeps making comments about interpersonal relationships as well as... normalcy makes Stein go, "..." a lot. Because it seems to Stein like Jack is also trying to get something out of him but can't figure out what it would be~
As for the whole I-Want-To-Cut-You-Do-You-Screw-You thing... Stein is definitely ping'd by Jack because Jack is sobold. Not only that but the whole "I want to know you~" thing comes into play and... well, basically, Stein is totally willing to follow along Jack's word-play and innuendo and suggestions and such. It's fun, for one thing. For another thing, it's exciting and where will it go, nobody knows~
... basically Jack pings Stein all over and yet while doing that also convinces Stein that there has to be something up with Jack since he seems to be one kind of person but has obviously worked to become a different sort of person and is continuing to make that slow evolution. It's kind of like a multi-dimensional jigsaw puzzle that Stein can't quit.

Koumyou is a bit of an enigma to Stein and thus, very very interesting and in need of more investigating. However, Stein doesn't really want to cut him as much as say like... Jack. This may or may not have to do with the soul-viewing (pssst, did you post there because I can't find it anywhere~), but mostly because Stein feels more able relax around him. SO I GUESS KOUMYOU TO STEIN IS A LOT LIKE STEIN'S RELATIONSHIP WITH MARIE THE DEATHSCYTHE, SOOTHES THE INSANITY~
Even though, you know, Stein definitely knows there's a lot to the story behind the robes that Koumyou isn't saying. Pretty sure if Stein ever meets Nii or Sanzo, he'll definitely get the picture, though.
no subject
And to reciprocate a bit, Koumyou thinks Stein is fun and also a very interesting person! Like he mentioned, he doesn't think he's crazy and he also doesn't believe he's as bad as his students make him out to be. :(d HE'S A LITTLE BIT WORRIED ABOUT THE HUMAN DISSECTIONS AND ALL but, there are moogles here, so! \o/

Bunshichi on Joshua and Tarou on Miyako too? Please?
no subject
Takemoto is just a bit of a woobie in Stein's eyes. Normal normal normal and not interesting enough to want to dissect but meh, he's good with conversation?
Bunshichi thinks Joshua is a creepy kid but a good kid. He really has no idea what kind of person Joshua really is like or anything, but he wants to believe this guy is a good kid, even when he's kind of off-putting and creepy :<
Tarou... is confused about Miyako~! Of course there's the whole canon!sister-complex thing but in Camp there's also people like Hao who keeps implying one thing when he's seeing something totally different. It also doesn't help much that one moment Miyako seems the same as always, then the next she's either looking at him funny or tsuntsuning at him--which makes him flail because "Omg, what did I do now?!" A-and... he totally doesn't get it. Orz. Where's Masayuki to help out--no, wait--!

Tarou likes Yuta. Not only because he helped him find his cousin and friend at Boys' 13 but also because he seems a nice guy overall. Responsible and such. H-he doesn't know Yuta that well but he could totally be friends with him~
Stein thinks it's fun to make Ari flail and go, "OMFG ARE YOU NUTS?!" It's reeeeeally entertaining even though Stein gets the feeling that Ari has lololol issues with crazy people. But he thinks Ari is a good kid and interesting but not enough to dissect--yet. Ahahaha. For the moment, Stein just really likes to pull Ari's leg. It has bells! T8D
As for Rabi... Stein wants to make Rabi a lab assistant or something. CAN I TAKE HIM HOME TO EXPERIMENT ON AND STUFF? is kind of how Stein's reacting because Rabi is smart, very smart. And Stein likes that, the quick-witted humor, the inquisitive need to know more, and the whole not-really-blinking-at-the-crazy-man-lololol bit. Rabi's just fun to make inane conversation with but also a good source of information and a good person to share information with. Bookman Jr. sofun for the genius to talk with~ And there is, of course, the whole CURIOSITY about Rabi's soul since it's showing lolol fun things~ Over 49 different identities can do that to a soul, dontcha know?
ETA: WHOOPS! WE BOTH TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT SIMON! Simon totally pings Stein's teacher side in that there's a LOT of potential to be had in the boy but he's still young and growing but in his soul is THE DRILL THAT WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!!!1! So yeah, there is that. It's also what makes Stein less wanting to dissect and more willing to direct and guide because WANNA SEE HOW THIS CAN DEVELOP. WANNA SEE HOW FAR THIS KID CAN GO. A-and yeah. That sort of curiosity is different from Stein's usual "How does it work--why is it like that?" deal s-so... Simon might have mad scientist person hanging around just to observe and stuff. T:>

But yeah. Since he's not sure about the whole Burupya = Mikage thing, Azuma just treats the baby dragon as if he were different from Mikage and... finds him adorable and cute and fun to play with and d'aaaaaaaaaaaaw. T-too bad Hakuren totally scared Azuma during the Jesii post because now Azuma is kind of afraid to give Burupya anymore bread. U-uwaaaah. ;;b

Fail me with thinking faster than I type- that should've said "Mikage and Azuma, and Stein". Could I get first impressions?

Not only that but Shiouji just dots at Stein a lot. We liek the dotters. Getting a reaction from them is win. T8D
As for Yuri, I told you this in chan, but basically Stein hasn't gotten a good close look at Yuri's soul and thus so far only finds him to be a mild curiosity since he's like... living on the roof of the chapel or something. Weirdo On the Roof would be the phrase except Stein is a weirdo himself so... pot? Kettle? He really doesn't quite know what to make of Yuri yet and since he hasn't seen his soul yet, doesn't really have a motivation to really find out if he's very interesting yet.

Lack of coherency is ttly fine, right?
Because yeah, Stein totally is interested in Shigure and his family because uhuhu Zodiac curse, you say? With the cat punished more than the others, you say? Two souls in one body, you say? How would that effect the body? And etc, etc, etc...
But aside from that, Stein is also very much into getting into Shigure's head. Because it's an interesting place to be. Shigure's not like a lot of the other people here who cling to others and-or make their own path and-or can fight for themselves and get out of a tough situation that way. No, Shigure does things in a more intricate manner which is just kind of on this side of interesting to the mad scientist. Being who he is, Stein often has trouble really understanding people outside of a scientific/psychological perspective and so meeting someone like Shigure who knows people and knows how to use people because of who they are is like giving Stein a new creature to play with and dissect~ Or something.
Beyond that, Stein is perhaps somewhat amused by Shigure's apparent curiosity and fascination with his soul abilities. It kind of seems like, to Stein, Shigure wants to know how it all works because it first of all, totally ruined Shigure's goody-goody act and second of all... well, Stein thinks Shigure wants to learn how it's done so he can pull the same tricks. Which ahahahaha, Stein is perfectly willing if Shigure can provide the right incentive~
So over all, Stein likes Shigure. He's like a new specimen to study. Different from people he's already met in Camp in a whole slew of ways and yet someone Stein can still understand and communicate with on several different levels~
RETURN ESSAY NOW WITH LESS COHERENCY
I was talking to Rabi earlier and we were like "ISN'T IT FUN TO PLAY ON THE EDGE?" and IT IS.
The thing is, Shigure is kinda naturally DRAWN to crazy people, he likes them even before he finds out they're crazy. And he's dealt with people way crazier than Stein is, so Stein is a BREATH OF FRESH AIR. Stein is crazy, but he's a coherent kind of crazy. So far he hasn't given Shigure the impression that he could SNAP and kill him, or anything, which he likes! Shigure's gotten the impression that Stein is a "safe" crazy.
That aside, Stein can tell things! Shigure had really never been called out on his bullshit in a conversation that fast. And he was surprised, but not in a bad way because hey, can read souls. He figured there was no point in putting up an act. ALSO. STEIN IS SMART, AND SHIGURE LOEV SMART PEOPLE.
SO. IN SUMMARY I THINK WE'RE GETTING ALONG.

OKAY SO YOUR SOUL IS A LONELY LONELY PLACE DOCTOR and it's the major reason why Stein is not going to be attempting to cut you at all. He only caught a glimpse of things going on in there, but it was enough. Especially the darker elements of your character.
But beyond that whole bit of trauma (thanks so much for that), Stein actually quite likes the Doctor. He's very to the point about things and leaves no room for arguments. Not only that but he is an accepting person who is willing to deal with any sort of people that runs by him. Agreeable to a fault, even. It might eventually start to drive Stein a bit nuts dealing with someone so agreeable but for now, he doesn't mind it and actually finds conversation with the Doctor quite relaxing AND a challenge at the same time.
Not only that but Stein respects the Doctor, so he's not going to be all up in his personal space trying to figure him out like Stein's done with Rabi and such. Instead, he's willing to go the slow and steady method of learning things--through questions and answers and observing. It's more entertaining that way with the Doctor, really.
And on top of all that, Stein is relieved to know that someone like the Doctor is willing to jump in if something were to go wrong with Stein... like the hurt-other-people go wrong, I mean. As I've said in one of my essays, Stein actually does enjoy being not all that sane but there's a line that he actually is not very willing to cross as it means a lack of control and... well. Sanity. And he kind of needs to stay just on this side of the line because he's a good guy and stuff. So having someone as powerful as the Doctor telling him that he'd definitely work to stop Stein if something were to go very very wrong definitely helped relieve that kind of nagging sense of paranoia that's still hanging around even though there's no kishin around.
So tl;dr version: Stein likes the Doctor, respects the Doctor, does not want to piss off the Doctor, wants to get to know the Doctor, is relieved that the Doctor can and will stop him if he berserks, and thinks the Doctor may be holding too much back and should be less agreeable and passive from time to time.

In other words: Stein's thoughts regarding Faust and Brook?
no subject
Which is to say that Stein doesn't really like Faust. There's just something that Stein just doesn't like about Faust. Probably the same thing that made him start off on a bad foot with Hakuren Oak: They both played the responsibility card. Only this time, Stein was the apparent loser because he was being a stubborn ass and going off into a losing battle just because this one guy pissed him off enough.
Worst thing is that Stein knows he's in the wrong but is stewing and wants to not like Faust at all. But he's a good guy, despite what Faust may have been implying, so he's grudgingly acknowledging that he was a bit stupid during the whole thing. Grudgingly. >/
Because there was a lot going on, Stein didn't really get a good, good look at Faust's soul but was able to see how Faust combats and... it's really so not fair that he has kickass powers. Kind of makes Stein want to cut Faust to figure out how he does it, but Stein pretty much knows THAT'S a lost battle even before it starts.
So uh. In summary: they got off on the wrong foot and Stein really hates being seen as irresponsible and such even though he sometimes is and embraces it. Now is not one of these times since there's someone around to say "I told you so" and that person happens to wear a paper bag over his head...
no subject
But he went ahead and rescued him anyway, because doctor's are supposed to save lives and that's how it is. Stein rubs Faust the wrong way in a lot of ways, so he can rest assured that Faust will not go out of his way to go 'I told you so' unless Stein instigates. Because really: he has better things to do with his time. Like helping people. AND BEING SENSIBLE AND NOT CRAZY AT ALL AND DOING GOOD DOCTOR WORK MMM CAN YOU SMELL THAT IT'S RESPONSIBILITY STEIN YEAH SMELLS GOOD DON'T IT?
