Ari has a fairly normal soul visually. The only interesting thing is that when he uses magic it siphons off of his soul. Ari is very insecure. :(

Rabi's soul is...GOD I DUNNO. As far as I know human? He has superior intellectual ability to most other Exorcists. Not as physically powerful as them though. He lies a lot and...stuff? ...for example every time he says his name is Rabi is a lie. :\

Hasegawa Chisame: human with magical powers, has a temporary contract (is semi-bonded) to Negi Springfield, who is also in camp. Insecure, cynical, apathetic, generally her emotions are a mixture of bored and pissy. But she has a tsundere heart of gold, etc. Loves Chizuru, her girlfriend. And Negi, kinda :(

Miura Haru: human, totally ordinary. Thinks a lot about TSUNA-SAAAAAAAN~! Has a strange mind, is a happy girl and can be very oblivious and set in her ways. Determined and strong, but also young and confused.

Yamazaki Kaoru: human, totally ordinary. Yamazaki has . . . a complicated mind. Is deeper and more emo than he appears, but also stronger and more full of hope than he seems. Thinks a lot about Nanako (a girl back home), Satou (a guy back home), hentai, fictional characters, being lonely, the nature of camp, his own place in the world/weaknesses, his family. HE'S A PRETTY ORDINARY GUY, just a fucked up one.

Viper: human, cursed, quite powerful, repressing his abilities and his curse with a chain he invented. NOT REALLY A BABY, he's probably in his late 20s-early 30s. Has psychic and illusion abilities, he's pretty godmodey. He can probably keep Stein out to an extent although I imagine not entirely, he'll just be harder to read than a normal person? He's an assassin and so his views on the value of human life are kinda. Whack. Thinks a lot about $$$MONEY$$$ and curing his condition and $$$MONEY$$$. Personality-wise he's thoughtful, deadpan, not easily moved, generally quite confident and in touch with himself.

Shiina Sakurako: human, has an innate ability to affect probability--in other words, she's very very lucky. She can't control this and doesn't realize the extent of it, although she knows about it somewhat. VERY VERY ENERGETIC AND HAPPY, PROBABLY THINKS IN CAPSLOCK, VERY CUTE AND CHEERFUL AND REALLY NORMAL TEENAGE GIRL KYAAAAAA~. There is not much of interest here. XD

Shirley Fennes: Uh. Let's see. Shirley is NOT HUMAN, at least not OUR kind of human--she's an aquatic species of human called Ferines. Shirley is also the Merines which is basically the Messiah figure of her race. She communes with the God of the Sea in her world and her purpose is to act as his will. She has his blessing and can use powerful magic because of this! Shirley has A REALLY COMPLICATED AND EMO PAST, but she's pretty much over it. In personality and mentality and soul she's become a mostly happy, zen, Jesusy, calm and caring person. But she can still be a bit awkward and insecure because she didn't have friends and was very very sheltered for 15 years. She thinks a lot about Senel and her friends back home, and things like. Baking. And cute stuff.

Devit: s-sob

Devit is half of a Noah. He's a person in and of himself but he's also half of Jasdevi along with Jasdero, so they're both two and one at the same time. He's not complete without Jasdero, they're completely and utterly bonded together. HENCE THE BONDS OF NOAH! So I guess he kind of has. Half of a soul, in a way. Also, yeah, Noah. He has this Presence squatting in his head and we don't really know the nature of it yet but it's probably Infernal (I totally hope that it actually does end up being Divine, but WE DUNNO YET). BUT IT IS EVIL. It totally warps his view of the world and humans, gives him memories that are 7000 years old, has shown him dreams of the end of the world, and so on! NOAH HAET YOU. IT IS ANCIENT AND IMMORTAL AND PISSED OFF, AND VERY VERY LONESOME in Devit and Jasdero, such is the nature of the Bonds.

As a PERSON Devit is . . . dumb, insecure, angry, malicious, childish, lonely, and violent. Left to his own devices he is not actively angry or murder-happy all the time, but it's not hard to trigger in interaction! He thinks of most things in terms of playing or games, even things like killing people, because anything outside of Jasdero is not entirely "real" to him and humans are among the least real. Also HAET INNOCENCE, WANT TO KILL INNOCENCE.

BASICALLY DEVIT'S THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS HAVE A LOT OF LAYERS, which is funny because he's such an open book and is so dumb. But because of Noah and the Bonds it's like. You'll have his actual thoughts (stupid shit, they are hilarious), a layer of insecurity about whatever he's doing/saying, a layer of JASDEROJASDEROJASDEROWHERE'SJASDERONEEDJASDERO, a layer of constant emptiness/loneliness/incompleteness, and then at the bottom a little ball of Noah kill, Noah hate, never forgive.

Keroro is obviously not human! He's a sergeant from the planet Keron. He is not a rapist but he WAS in the past. He's since mellowed out to a fault and regressed into a nice second childhood, which he spends being lazy, egotistical, immature, self-centered, retarded, and so on. He's a genuinely good person(-thing) who cares a lot for his friends but . . . yeah. XD He's also a retard and pretty much acts like a little boy, except for when he acts like a cranky old man. Being an alien he has a vast body of knowledge that humans don't have access to but also doesn't really get a lot of things about Earth. And yes he is technically an enemy of this planet and can be malicious sometimes, as he's an alien invader. His thoughts are like. Jack would have a fairly normal soul, except for the bit where he can't die, is a "fixed point in space and time" yada yada. A lot of time travel, epic torture when he was younger, and war has probably fucked with his soul a little too.

Arhu is very much a teenager, hormones and interested in girls. Peony is a laid-back thinker, but one who likes acting on whims. When he's being serious he's very good at compartmentalising himself to be properly serious, but that doesn't happen often. The rest of the time he's cheerful, pleasant, genuinely amused, and occasionally romantically stupid or emo. His soul, possibly if the rest of the Abyss cast agree, resonates with a given note. Probably 6th.

Negi is a polite and pleasant and excitable and overly-accomodating ten-year-old with all the confusion and general distractedness that involves. He is also shit-hot at magic, wind and thunder specifically, and when not being distracted away from it kind of settles back into a low-level emo that can fall away to a really dark and broody core - if he's really pissed he can go zerker and rage very easily. He has a series of links to pactio partners in and out of camp.

Kamina's soul is burning hot and perhaps mildly self-destructive. MANLY MAN etc and just a tad foolish and a lot of it is an act but a lot of it is raw belief in himself and Simon and yeah basically he'd either get on amazingly with or constantly fight with Black Star. It is not quite as spirally as Simon's soul, not even close, but there's little hints of it.

Itoshiki-sensei's soul is prickly and spiky and untrusting and aloof and also kind of hurt and lonely. BUT for the purposes of crack it also looks like whatever you want, preferably something weird or ironic. It could, perhaps, be a Psyduck. (Though Zetsubou would expect this more of Fuura...) It could be a mini-sensei hanging himself. It could be a Death Note reference. And different each time and so on.

Suzaku has a human soul, but it's very cracked and bent. He is constantly guilting about murdering his father and consequently causing the deaths of many more Japanese citizens, and he's v. emo. He hates himself and wants to die, basically; he's just a lying liar who lieees. But he's also driven to try to protect people and follow the "rules," so he's extremely determined and focused :|b Also not so secretly woobie.

Alice has the soul of a Chain! Though she . As of now, her true self looks like a GIANT, SCYTHE-WIELDING BLACK RABBIT that is sealed away by magicks. Her soul is tied to Oz and Gil's o/ And she wears her emotions on her sleeve, but she's got a nasty temper, an identity complex coupled with loneliness, and a tsundere devotion to Oz. Also is a lying liar who lies.

Yuuki has a totally normal soul . She's sweet and caring and very self-sacrificing, though she also has an identity complex and worries about her past more than she lets on.

Ioryogi is not human, and his true self looks something like a giant wolf beast IIRC. He's done bad shit and has been cursed for it, and he's kind of a bastard with temper issues. But also pretty devoted to keeping Kobato safe, though he'd never admit it.

Freyjadour has the soul of a tenkai star. Which isn't actually anything much, but it might tell you that people are naturally drawn to him as a leader. You might also see a blip for the Dawn Rune - it's not a true rune, but it's unique, and should show up somewhere.

Thor should be obviously not human, 'cause he's a god. Power levels approaching 9000. More than that, though, he's incredibly noble and valiant and self-sacrificing and just an all-around shiny paragon of virtue. He's friendly and open and a lot sharper than he looks, but his anger is the fury of the storm--when it comes out, he's a literal force of nature.

Ricochet should read as human because I doubt genetics show up in the soul. Loads of guilt and self-confidence issues, and he hides genuine superheroic idealism behind a lot of cynicism and flippancy. Annoying banter is like his other superpower.

The Spirit is a normal human--experienced, a little world-weary, but genuinely heroic underneath. He's clever and sneaky and enjoys the banter much like Rico. He's someone who's embraced a life of anonymity and danger in order to protect the general public, so make of that what you will.

Iroh... is a firebender? Mostly normal but with a spiritual/elemental component there, I guess? He's pretty serene most of the time, very easygoing and relaxed and generous and kind-hearted... But he's also a warrior, a canny strategist and general who led armies to great success, so underneath the serenity is great discipline and a sharp edge. He also visited the Spirit World, and that left him able to see spirits, so... that might show.

Rikku is an Al Bhed...? I DON'T THINK THAT HELPS MUCH but she's good with machines and chemicals. She's from a planet where aaaallll the energy spirals outward into people and when they die, comes back to it. Lolol Lifestream. Only it's called the Farplane. She's pretty bubbly and lighthearted, but also intelligent.

Citrine is a genetically modified human and is an existence made to kill a God of her dimension; if not the one responsible for the universe's inception then one that's been around checking out our plane since it happened. Cielo has a complicated soul! He basically kinda has two souls in one body except I'm not sure Dyaus is really that separate from him. More like a symbiotic/parastitic soul maybe? I dunno.

From Cielo's human half you'll probably see a lot of grief and emo semi-concealed by that happiness. From Dyaus'half, you'll feel pure hunger.

Nanny Ogg is mostly what she appears to be! A loud, happy old lady with no scruples and no shame whatsoever. Underneath that is a hell of a lot of steel and willingness to be unscrupulous in doing what she deems necessary, but mostly she'd rather get drunk and dance around on tables singing the Hedgehog song. Is also a witch which. Probably doesn't change much in her head although it informs the basis of who she is.

Morrolan is obviously not human, but if you didn't get that off his height and pointed ears then there may be no hope for you. More interesting is the fact that his soul is basically marked PROPERTY OF THE DEMON GODDESS VERRA and metaphysically linked to the sword he carries (Blackwand, a soul-eating, semisentient Great Weapon). Also, at this point he is sort of partly divine due to an injection of god's blood, but canon has not really told me what's up with that other than that it lets him return from the Paths of the Dead, which shouldn't be possible. He is AN SHOUNEN RETARD and doesn't really bother concealing his emotions, so what you see is more or less what you get. Honorable, generous, kind and very, very bloodthirsty.

Ivy carries around All Human Knowledge Ever in her head due to a fantastically complex almost-living spell which resides there. She is The Archive and has been since she was born; her personality is calm, analytical and ruthless, but she has a great big weakness for cute things and is terribly lonely (less so in camp since she got adopted by 5654567 people).

Death the Kid is a Shinigami. I REALLY HOPE YOU AND MAKA KNOW THIS. He has shinigami skills and can do ... shinigami things like seeing people's souls. One day, I will actually write more on what he can do. Today is not that day.

Robert is a tenkaijin, or a heavenly/celestial being. His soul is very mixed! There's good and bad in there almost neatly balancing each other out, whup.

Akihiko has a Persona and ... idk how that would show in his soul. It's like another self being there, though? blahblah.

Edgeworth and Sakuraba and Bak are all fairly normal humans with fairly normal souls.

Break's soul is probably really messed up. He's got a contract with a Chain and uh I think you both are familiar-ish with PH, so you know how that goes. He's also dying! So. Fragile soul, already pretty warped as is due to his nature.

Anyway, Lina is a fiercely intelligent, greedy, self-absorbed teenager with an absurd amount of power and a temper. As a result, she's garnered epithets like "The Enemy of All Who Live", "Dragon Spooker", "The Bandit Killer", and "The Queen of Hell." Most of the time her thoughts consist of "what's for [insert meal of the day here]?", complex theories on magic, and EXTREME DENIAL OF FEEELINGS FOR CERTAIN SWORDSMEN. And somewhere, DEEP DOWN THERE, she's a good person.

Enjolras has a very pure, straightforward, serious soul. Human, but he can sort of be one of those "old soul" types sometimes, at least where revolutioning is concerned. Very focused.

Maladict... I dunno if Discworld vampires have souls. IF HE DOES, he's mostly what he seems. Which is, y'know. Vampire. Pretty zen and generally chill with life. Sort of a magnificent bastard but not the malicious type. [SPOILERS][/SPOILERS]

Tatsumi is dead and has been for over half a century now. So physical and actual ages don't match up. Shinigami! His fussy, bossy secretary self is largely the truth, but there's also a lot of buried emo, mainly concerning Tsuzuki. Honestly, most of the time, the emo is pretty dormant, but when it does rear up, it tends to be overwhelming.

Sora is surprisingly WYSIWYG. He's an Air Gear male. SHOUNEN RETARD. [SPOILERS][/SPOILERS]

Van has a very focused, serious soul. At it's core, it's... sad. Also angry, but the anger stems from sadness. Not really so much emo, though, if you know what I mean. Going from what Peony said, Van's soul resonates with a certain note -- the 7th, in his case. He's pretty powerful.

There are spoilers for Van, but I don't think they're so necessary? I dunno, KIDD WOULD KNOW. Ahaha, this is where I begin to go a;oid;iouf over not knowing who's played ToA. If you want/need more detail, just ask, but if you haven't played Tales of the Abyss yet and possibly might in the future, it really is best to stay unspoiled, I think. |D
